Dress for Success Houston is seeking a compassionate Marketing and Communications Associate to support Dress for Success® Houston's fundraising efforts through external/internal communication, marketing, and event support. This role will report to the Director of Development.
Marketing/Communications
Maintain and update the look of the website and review analytics
Craft bi-monthly agency emails
Manage agency social media outlets with an editorial calendar and active engagement
Assist Development team with producing DFS Houston bi-annual newsletter
Design campaign/event collateral and proof agency materials for digital and print
Create and execute online giving and voting campaigns including social media graphics and film clips
Create and execute event and awareness campaigns such as Black History Month and International Women's Day
Maintain and update branded email and announcement templates for all departments
Oversee social media requirements for grants and sponsorship benefits
Design/Proof Board reports and implements branding guidelines in collaboration with the Director of Development
Support monthly e-newsletter/marketing materials for WOW
Public Relations
Craft press releases for signature events, initiatives, and pitch features as applicable
Maintain media relations by promoting relevant content and providing social media mentions
Schedule and coordinate with photographers for special events
Point of contact for media inquiries
Schedule Proclamation with the City of Houston and corresponding requirements
Development
Assist with major events
Research prospective donors and cultivate existing donors for in-kind and monetary support
Maintain grants calendar and tracker
Utilize community partnerships to achieve agency goals
Qualifications
Minimum of four years in the non-profit or communications/marketing/public relations sector preferred
Bachelor's degree required
Proficient writing and copy skills
Ability to create and develop new ideas for the agency
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
Photography, CRM platform (Donor Perfect preferred), MailChimp, Canva, and SquareSpace skills a plus
Ability to relate to diverse groups from different sectors, including corporate and social service agencies
Proficient knowledge of social media trends, website analysis, and use of social media scheduling
Energetic and welcoming personality, encouraging, positive and professional demeanor
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and results
Proof of Covid-19 vaccination

Working Hours
Monday through Friday
Must be able to work evening and/or weekend events; approximately three per month
